Branding Standardization & Communications Strategy - Capacity Building Commission, Government of India
Overview:
As part of the founding team of the Capacity Building Commission—established by the Government of India in 2021 as the execution arm of the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building—I led the standardization of all branding collateral and strategic communications. The Commission, operating at a pan-India scale, required a distinct yet cohesive and immediately recognizable brand identity. Utilizing design-thinking methodologies and strategic brand management techniques, I ensured uniformity and effectiveness across diverse communication touchpoints, significantly enhancing the organization's public engagement and clarity of purpose.
Role & Responsibilities:
Strategic Brand Development & Standardization
Led the creation and execution of a unified visual identity system, establishing comprehensive guidelines to ensure consistency and coherence across all branding materials.
Collaborated closely with four design agencies to produce high-quality, standardized collateral, including reports, publications, flyers, banners, and event-specific branding and marketing assets.
Content Development & Agency Collaboration
Directed the creative processes, including ideation, iteration, and prototyping, to develop materials that clearly communicated the Commission's mission, goals, and initiatives.
Ensured design deliverables maintained consistency and aligned with strategic objectives by facilitating frequent collaboration, feedback loops, and iterative refinements with external design partners.
Social Media & Digital Communication Management
Managed and curated content for the Commission's official LinkedIn page for over one year, strategically using analytics-driven insights to enhance online engagement, public outreach, and brand positioning.
Created compelling narratives and digital strategies to communicate impactful stories of organizational initiatives, achievements, and capacity-building programs.
Photography & Visual Storytelling
Independently managed and executed all photography requirements for the Commission, capturing professional images for publications, reports, events, digital media content, and promotional materials.
Impact:
Successfully established a unified, clear, and recognizable brand identity for a newly formed governmental entity, significantly enhancing its professional visibility and credibility across India.
